On December 2, 2021 Ordinance No. 460: An Ordinance of the City of Lucedale, Mississippi to allow the operation of golf carts on certain public roads and streets within the City, went into effect.

Permits and inspections can be obtained at the Lucedale Police Department (545 Oak Street), Monday through Friday, 8 am to 4 pm.

Golf carts cannot be operated in the following areas: Highway 26, Highway 63, Winter Street, Beaver Dam Road from Industrial Road to Highway 98 and 198 West beyond Dottie Street. (A map will be given to all golf cart permit holders).
